Francis Marion VFW Post 4667 has begun planning for the second annual Memorial Day parade to be held on May 26, 2008. "In an effort to bring back the true patriotic meaning of Memorial Day, I felt a community parade through downtown Marion followed by a Memorial service and then a community barbeque at our local VFW Post would help," says Bill Baldwin.

Any organization, individual, or civic group desiring to enter the parade can obtain an application by either calling the VFW Post at (276) 783-7971 or download it from the links below.

The parade committee is also seeking additional members. Individuals, organizations and civic groups interested n helping are asked to contact the VFW Post at 783-7971 or Turk Johnson at 686-5085.  The Memorial Day Parade's nest meeting will be on Tuesday February 12 at 7:00 PM at the VFW Post home on Goolsby Street.
